Excuse me!!

You couldn’t believe what happened!! Two friends and I were planning to go to New York to spend Memorial Day there, at the time we decided to make the trip was too late to find a flight and e thought that would be a great idea to get there by bus, will be adventurous and different. We hadn’t thought this very well and we couldn’t imagine what is about to happen to us.

When we were in the station everything seemed very normal, until we had to board the bus and the man in charge said we have to wait for another bus, at the first moment we were a little worried but then he explained to us that sometimes they have to send two buses when there are a lot of people travel to the same destination.

While in the bus we were very relax, my friends started to talk to each other (not too loudly), when the bus driver turned back and said to them in a very rude tone “Excuse me!”  asking for them to get quiet. We were shock but then quietly I had been enjoying the view and my mind only could think about New York like “All your life you’ve wanted to go there, 7 hours more won’t let you die” but what I didn’t know was I´ll not going to make it by bus.

At 1:00 am we arrived to Cleveland and we had to leave the bus despite our round trip was without transfer, but we did what the bus driver told us. When we had to board the other bus there weren’t enough seats for us!! The bus was overbooked, the two buses from Chicago had become in one to New York. Took to us like 5 minutes to realize what happened and start to think what to do.

The next bus to New York will leave at 5:00 am and will arrive at 6:00 pm – that would be insane after 8 hours of travel to Cleveland- One of my friends panic and started to cry, but we had to think what will be the better solution, so we called to the hostel and we could cancel the reservation, so we decided to go back to Chicago and asked the bus company for a refund.

Despite the staff of the bus line was so rude to us, we received total refund for our bus tickets- I think because we made such a big drama- And the hostel will refund us too. Finally when we took the bus to Chicago we were so happy but we didn’t know how exhausting will be the road and that we will have to stop cause a flat tire!!!!!!

Robbed in Madrid 

I had never been more scared in my life. I was with my sister in our last day of an amazing trip in Madrid and we were going to the hotel to get our baggage and go to the airport when we got robbed! Some guy in the subway took my wallet with our passports and the money left and ran very fast out of the train, when we realize that we had been robbed was too late for catch the man.         

We had no idea about what to do, but in any case we had to be hurry to not miss our flight back. Finally we arrive to the airport with our luggage and the first thing we did was tell the story in the police.

While we were making the denunciation we weren’t so sure about what we are going to do to board the plane without any identification more than our Venezuelan one. And even worst if we had to stay, how we can make it without any money!

At the moment we passed through the customs they only asked for the denunciation and told us they didn’t have any problem to let us go inside but they don’t know if the airline will let us board the plane without our passports.

We had had our fingers crossed for like an hour, when the moment of board the plane arrived. Miraculously the girl in charge only asked for our boarding pass and as soon as we get in the plane, we took a deeply breath and emotionally start to cry.

Euthanasia

It's very hard to talk about euthanasia these days. You have to put yourself in someone's else shoes to know how painful would be take a decision like that. Because of that I'm back and forth about my position about Euthanasia.  First I think you have no right about decide when it's the time for your death in order to religious beliefs. But in other hand it's so cruel have to spent the rest of your life having misery and suffering and if it's happen to a person you love I think it's the worst.

But in any case the person should be able to make a chose for him case. It's a personal decision and nobody has the right to take it apart from you, then it's your issue in what you believe or not.

I hope I'll never be in the position to have to decide for someone's I love life or either mine.

Today the discussion in the class was based in food. Was so interesting find out where the famous dishes are actually from, because sometimes we know the food and thinks it's from one country and came that it's from other totally different. It's amazing how globalization play an important roll when we talk about food, because people are familiarize with many types of food and like a lot to try other internationals options at the time to have a meal.
Of course isn't the same have for example Mexican food in America than in Mexico because the taste it's a little different......

Somethings that impress me about American Culture

I think Venezuelan people have absorbed too many things about American culture, but we still are more alike to Europeans in the way we live our lives and tough about the future. One thing very shocking to me was the fact that when you go to a restaurant in America and finished your food, the waiter automatically give you the bill without ask if you are done or maybe want a cup of coffee or desert. In my country it's very different, you have to ask about the bill and then you get it, but only if you've already ask for it.
Other thing that it's remarkable for me about Americans, it's the way they say hello, they don't kiss each other in the cheek. It has been really weird to me not to greet my home stay for example with a kiss and sometimes there a very awkward moment between us because I don't know what to do, and perhaps she feels uncomfortable if I give her a kiss.

Mix of Cultures

Today my class changes a lot, I've been separate from many of my classmates and now I have new ones. Sincerely I miss them a lot, I think we were an excellent  group but it's a new chance to meet other people. For example today I was working with Su, and with an activity class I could know her better and knew what are the differences between us. Right know we are in the same phase of our lives because we want to improve our English and meet some new people for different parts of the world, but in a couple of months we'll be in a very different stage, because she wants to continue her studies and I'm done with that, I don't want to see books for a while hahaha.... Besides that we'll not be in the interchange phase.

It's kind of funny that we are really different because she is an artist person and I'm a scientist one. We have very dissimilar likes, she is so good at language, writing and reading stuff...I'm not at all!!! hahaha I prefer math, physics and chemistry, I don't like so much to read, at least would be a very interesting book or article. 

Even though we are very opposite in hobbies and tastes, we are very alike in personality, we both consider ourselves very sensitives and looking the same thing in a friend : that she/he can support us.  

It's a little sad not to be with your old classmates but It's so good meet new people and learn more about themselves.

In my country read the newspaper or watch the T.V news are essential activities that people do every day. The media is the only way to know about how political develops an important place in the life of Venezuelan people. Now days my country are living a political crisis and that's why is so important to know every little things that happen. It's very impressive how the technology is used to get communicate and no matter if you didn't read the paper you anyway will know the more important events in the present. But we can't trust in every information we read because there are some unreliable sources and probably distorts the real event.
We have to identify which sources are good to get information and which are only scandalize and get a wrong information of what is happen . We need to be clear in what believes because it's a bad thing to convert in echo of lies and information that only generate stress and anguish.
